Description – Demand Planner

1.  Coordinate planning and scheduling of batteries and accessories among Manufacturing plants, Supplier base, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service to achieve EnerSys goals for on-time delivery, competitive lead times, inventory control, and cost performance. This includes:

a. Daily management of Distribution Requirements Planning system

b. Daily support to Sales force and Customer Service to provide lead-time quotations and best-possible schedule dates that meet customer needs

c. Master Production/Purchase Scheduling of products sourced overseas

d. Oversight of document and information flow for trouble-free importation, on-time delivery, and invoice payment

2. Manage inventory levels by SKU and location. Guide order allocations to improve order fulfillment; maximize usage of excess inventory; and promote disposition of unusable stock.

3. Provide leadership to maintain highest levels of data integrity and optimal use of ERP systems consistent with APICS-standard practice. This includes:

a. Accuracy of inventory records and consistent practices among stock locations

b. Integrity of customer request, original promise, and current delivery schedule dates for purchase, sales, and replenishment orders

4. Manage assigned projects to facilitate new product introductions and cost-effective phase-outs of products being discontinues.



Required Skills

Language Skills: Superior written and oral communications

Mathematical Skills: Arithmetic skills required at 98% level of accuracy; statistics desirable.

Reasoning Ability: Ideal candidate will demonstrate understanding of complex interaction of factors affecting supply and demand.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office modules, particularly Excel, Word, and Access. Proficient in using mainframe integrated ERP system as a tool to manage production, purchases, demand, and inventory.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: APICS Certification highly desirable



Required Experience

Education and/or Experience: BS or BA in quantitative or business discipline, or equivalent experience in Sales/Marketing or Operations/Manufacturing. Desirable: experience with state-of-the-art ERP system and complex supply/demand/distribution network.
